The Press Council of Ireland has upheld in part an appeal received from Gript.ie on a decision by the Press Ombudsman to uphold a complaint about an article it published.

The Press Council or Ireland has upheld an appeal from the editor of the Sunday World on a decision of the Press Ombudsman to uphold a complaint made by a family under Principle 1 and Principle 5 of the Press Council’s Code of Practice.

The Press Council of Ireland has overturned a decision of the Press Ombudsman to uphold a complaint by SAOL Project that an article published by the Sunday Independent breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy), Principle 3 (Fair Procedures and Honesty) and Principle 5 (Privacy) of the Press Council’s Code of Practice.

The Press Council of Ireland has overturned a decision of the Press Ombudsman to uphold a complaint by a person that www.irishmirror.ie  breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy) of the Press Council’s Code of Practice.

The Press Ombudsman has not upheld a complaint by Mr Niall Doyle that the Sunday World breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy), Principle 2 (Distinguishing Fact and Comment), Principle 3 (Fair Procedures and Honesty), Principle 4 (Respect for Rights) and Principle 7 (Court Reporting) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.  

The Press Ombudsman has not upheld a complaint that the Western People breached Principle 3 (Fair Procedures and Honesty) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.

The Press Ombudsman has not upheld a complaint by Mr Raymond Kilbride that The Sunday Times breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.

The Press Ombudsman determined that he had insufficient evidence available to him to make a decision on a complaint by Mr Patrick Nevin that the Irish Daily Star breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy), Principle 2 (Distinguishing Fact and Comment) and Principle 4 (Respect for Rights) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.

The Press Ombudsman determined that he had insufficient evidence available to him to make a decision on a complaint by Mr Patrick Nevin that the Irish Daily Star breached Principle 1 (Truth and Accuracy), Principle 2 (Distinguishing Fact and Comment) and Principle 4 (Respect for Rights) of the Code of Practice of the Press Council of Ireland.
